Nov. 13, 14, 15 – Humane Society of Elmore Co - Petsmart & Purina Holiday National Adopt-a-thon weekend –. – Need many volunteers to help with adoptions at the Montgomery and Prattville Petsmart locations. Hours: Fri. 1 – 5 p.m.; Sat. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sun. 1 – 4 p.m.
Easter Seals – Needs people to take Easter Seals ornaments to various vendors in Montgomery and Prattville. All ornaments are prepackaged. Volunteers just need to have the authorized recipient sign the inventory sheet.
Nov. 16 - Nov. 20 Catholic Social Services needs people to deliver boxed food for Thanksgiving meals (unprepared) to 56 recipients. Each person will receive 2 boxes that weigh about 35 pounds each.
Dec. 3 - Alabama Kidney Foundation – From 5 – 8 p.m., on Dec. 3, the Alabama Kidney Foundation and its volunteers will gather to stuff over 1000 bags with useful and fun goodies and deliver them to dialysis patients in the River Region. Due to the financial devastation kidney disease causes, for some patients, this is the only holiday gift they will receive. 30 – 50 volunteers needed.
Dec. 5, 6, 19 & 20 – Pictures with Santa Paws, Montgomery & Prattville Petsmart – Elmore County Humane Society - We need many volunteers for this fundraiser: 1. dress up as Santa (costume furnished) and hold the pets for pictures 2. take pictures and print them (camera and printer furnished) and 3. helpers to help get pets into Santa's lap. Prattville Petsmart Sat. and Suns - Dec. 5 and 6, Montgomery Petsmart Sat & Sun – Dec. 19 and 20.
Jan. 17 - Feb. ? - Valentine Basket makers needed on Saturdays at Lighthouse Counseling between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Volunteers will organize materials for baskets and create Valentine baskets for counseling clients. The shift could be split into 2 or 3 shifts for larger groups. Lighthouse Counseling opens just for this on those Saturdays.
