 *1  Children's Health Fair Extravaganza AUM, VIC for area children  Filled, thanks to Emerge Montgomery and individual volunteers!  9:30 - 11:30

 2  Paint a Thon National Association of Women in Construction, painter Rick Littleton Paint homes of elderly in Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore.  8 a.m. - until  NAWIC volunteers painted the home of an elderly woman in Autauga.
 3  Montgomery's Going Green Clean City Commission and BONDS   Distribute orange recycling bags and informational pamphlets throughout the neighborhoods to encourage EVERYONE to recycle. Only 38 percent of Montgomery recycles.  8 a.m. City neighborhoods  Hundreds of volunteers worked prior to Oct. 25, on Oct. 25 and after to distribute 18,000 recycle bags throughout Montgomery.
 *4 Wardrobe 4 Success Motherly Care  Sponsored by Metro Fitness.  Business attire to be collected for Motherly Care's Wardrobe 4 Success    More than 50 Metro Fitness Members  donated a truckload full of  business attire in good condition to Motherly Care. A wonderul class from Brew Tech helped pack up the clothing.
 *5 Bibs for Buddies    Sponsored by Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama.  Scouts made bibs and catheter bagsfor Nellie Burge Children's Center, Vistacare Hospice, Hospice of Montgomery, and the Cancer Wellness Foundation.    Three area girl scout troops, Troop 9785, 9125 and 9469, and two volunteers from the community made bibs and catheter bags. 
 *6 Flower Power Family Sunshine Center Sponsored. by Capital City Master Gardeners. Master gardeners will be planting flowers/plants for the Family Sunshine Center.  9 a.m.  7 master gardeners planted flowers, trees and other plants. The husband of one gardener repaired furniture.
 7 Habitat for Humanity CANCELLED  TBA  
 *8 Bottles for Babies COPE  sponsored by Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School.  Area Catholic students will collect funds for COPE in marked baby bottles. Funds used for cribs, car seats.    Montgomery Catholic students held several bake sales and collected donations to raise more than $1,000 for COPE.
 9  Cars 4 Jobs Motherly Care  5+ mechanics Mechanics needed to repair donated cars to single-parent families needing transporation to jobs.  8 a.m. until

Donor saw the listing and made a large donation. No more storage space. THANK YOU!
 Baptist Hospice looking for a group to conduct drive.  
* 11  Animal Shelter Clean Up Prattville/Autauga Humane Society  15 volunteers have signed up! Might use a few more.  Prattville/Autauga Humane Society needs volunteers to work in the shelter, cleaning cages and kennels, etc.  FRIDAY,

 12  MANE Clean Up Montgomery Area Non-Traditional Equestrians  Filled by Regions Bank volunteers  Clean up, mow, paint, clean barn, regular maintenance activities.  8 a.m. - noon

 About 16 volunteers, including bank volunteers and other individuals, worked at the site.
 * 13  Gardening King-Johns Garden for Reflection, MLK Parsonage  Filled by Carver High School Government Club  

MLK Parsonage needs volunteers to do minimal gardening chores. Can bring tools. Some will be available. 303 S.         Jackson St., behind Dexter Avenue King Parsonage and Interpretive Center.

 8 a.m. - noon 6 volunteers, some from Carver, worked on this project.
 14  Spruce Up Nellie Burge Community Center    Paint, shampoo carpet, clean cots, tables, chairs  8 a.m.  - until  
 15 Stride and Ride Muscular Dystrophy Association  teams of volunteers  

Walk at Eastdale Mall to raise money for MDA, beginning at 8 a.m. Registration – 7:30 a.m.

Build or Join a Team - Put together a group of your co-workers, friends, family, etc and form a Stride & Ride Team. An MDA staff member will coach you and help you in your efforts to be a success.

Raise Funds - Set a goal for your team and ask everyone to help. MDA has tools for you (sample
letters, online fundraising, posters, etc.).

 *16 Personal Care Bags Wiregrass Hospice  Sponsored and filled by Mrs. Quantock's Vaughn Road Elementary 5th grade class  Making personal care bags for Wiregrass Hospice clients    
 17 Personal Hygiene Packages for the Unsheltered Homeless Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless  Alabama Christian Academy Middle School 7th grade has taken this project and will be spending their own money! Others may work on this, too.     About 65 7th graders made personal care bags for the Montgomery Area Coalition for the Homeless to distribute to homeless individuals in Montgomery.
 *18 Family Sunshine Center Exchange Club        Exchange club members cut out holiday figures for the holiday tree and assembled packets for the counseling center.
* 19  Eye for Decor Group Homes for Children  Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School Jr. Varsity Cheerleaders have taken this project.  Help the kids at Group Homes for Children make their home look like a family home. Paint and supplies furnished.   Montgomery Catholic Jr. Varsity cheerleaders and their mothers worked several days to redecorate the living area of one home in the Group Homes for children.
* 20 Halloween Treat Bags  Hospice of Montgomery      United Methodist Women's group made personal care bags that were delivered by Hospice staff.
